Abstract: GenAI agents expand what software can do, but cash, credit, and compliance still demand hard guarantees. This talk proposes a pragmatic reference architecture for banks: agents at the edge (plan–act–observe over tools) and a deterministic commit spine (policy gates, limits, posting/ledger, protocol adapters). We show how intent gateways translate stochastic proposals into domain commands, how DMN policies enforce decisions, and how levels of autonomy move teams from human-in-the-loop to human-on-the-loop safely. Case sketches: ATM withdrawal, loan origination, KYC remediation. Audience will learn get patterns for idempotency, blast-radius caps, provenance, audit, and model governance as well as how to adopt the architecture incrementally  (shadow mode to gated autonomy).
