About the Faculty of Organizational Sciences

The Faculty of Organizational Sciences (Serbian: Факултет организационих наука / Fakultet organizacionih nauka – FON) is an integral unit of the University of Belgrade, established in 1969. The faculty emerged in response to the growing demands of numerous companies seeking contemporary expertise in organization, management, and information systems. Over the years, the Faculty of Organizational Sciences has evolved into a leading institution for management studies and information systems not only within Serbia but across the broader region.

Since its founding, FON has educated over 12,000 bachelors, approximately 3,000 masters, over 600 specialists, and 300 doctors. Each year, more than 1,000 new students enroll in FON at all study levels in a very strong competition. With an enrollment of over 6,000 students and a dedicated academic staff exceeding 170 members, FON maintains a robust academic environment.

FON offers 26 study programs in both Serbian and English, covering a diverse range of disciplines such as Information Systems and Technologies, Software Engineering, E-Business Technologies, Business Analytics, Data Science, Financial Management, LEAN Business Organization, Quality Management and Organization, Engineering Management, Marketing and Communication, Operations Management, and Project Management. In 2021, FON underwent a significant modernization of study programs through a new accreditation cycle, reinforcing its commitment to delivering cutting-edge education. A new building, spanning 14,000m2 and equipped with modern facilities including halls, auditoriums, computer rooms, meeting spaces, and reading rooms, was inaugurated in 2022, providing FON with a state-of-the-art physical space.

FON places a strong emphasis on international collaboration, engaging in partnerships with over 50 esteemed universities worldwide, and participating in programs like ERASMUS+, CEEPUS, and various international projects under HORIZON 2020. The faculty also fosters strategic partnerships with distinguished international and Serbian companies. Furthermore, FON actively promotes research and development through its Research and Development Hub, where students and mentors collaborate on projects with partner organizations, fostering the development of students’ startup companies. The faculty is also a publisher of three international research journals – Management, YUJOR, and ComSIS as well as one national journal, InfoM.
