Code of Conduct

The ISD conference has an ethos of supporting researchers, particularly early career academics, and is long known as a friendly, sociable conference that provides a safe and inclusive environment for all delegates. At ISD, diversity and inclusion are fundamental values. The conference fosters a welcoming environment that respects the uniqueness of every individual, promotes the free exchange of ideas, and upholds freedom of thought and expression. Diversity is about recognizing and valuing different talents, ensuring that individuals from diverse backgrounds have an opportunity to share their perspectives. Inclusion means actively removing barriers that may hinder equal access and participation, ensuring that all conference activities are free from discrimination.

At the ISD 2025 conference, we have created a broad organizational team of highly motivated professionals that fully supports all conference activities. ISD 2025 Organization Team is fully committed to leading and promoting excellence and strives to cultivate the ISD community by providing all the services in a highly ethical and professional way. As such, we agree to uphold the general ethical principles, professional responsibilities, and professional leadership principles outlined by several relevant documents published by the recognized world-wide academic and professional organizations.

As ISD is an affiliated conference of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), and ISD 2025 is organized at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences of University of Belgrade, it must adhere to the following Code of Conduct documents:

The ISD Code of Conduct follows the  AIS Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and in particular we draw your attention to the General Ethical Principles: 1) Contribute to society and to human well-being, acknowledging that all people are stakeholders in computing; 2) Avoid harm; 3) Be honest and trustworthy; 4) Be fair and take action not to discriminate; 5) Respect the work required to produce new ideas, inventions, creative works, and computing artifacts; 6) Respect privacy; and 7) Honor confidentiality.

The ISD Code of Conduct requires all participants to conduct themselves during all ISD conference activities in a professional and personal manner that is welcoming to all participants and free from any form of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying, or retaliation. Harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment, or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Participants agree to treat each other with respect and consideration to create and ensure a collegial, inclusive, and professional environment. Participants should avoid any inappropriate actions or statements based on an individual’s characteristics protected by law. By taking part in ISD, all participants commit to treating all other participants with fairness, dignity, and respect.

We expect all our participants to be aware that misconduct can be disturbing and unpleasant to those who experience it. Any form of misconduct and breach of the Code of Conduct will be addressed promptly, sensitively and appropriately. We provide avenues for reporting or discussing inappropriate behavior or misconduct during the conference. Participants are encouraged to report any behavior they find disturbing and have the option to formally report such behavior.
